Healthcare photographer giving brands a visual voice.

My life story (so far)
At 15, I fell in love with photography. Following graduation from RIT, and a short stint assisting, Calabrese Studio was born. Time has flown by shooting images & video for hundreds of brands. This road trip has found me surviving two partners, four recessions and a pandemic. I grew my studio to 10 employees in the roaring '90s, and was at the forefront of the digital revolution. I've been with my incredible wife for 40 years (who happens to be an RN) and raised 3 great kids, 2 who are wonderful photographers, the other a teacher. Much has changed, but the love I have for making pictures has evolved into a love of telling my client's stories and helping to give their brands a visual voice.
Chops
25 years ago I didn't have a clue what the healthcare market was. What I have learned though, is it's one of the more difficult categories to make meaningful images in. Engineers, doctors and the folks in sales sometimes have a hard time seeing the value in what I do. I help my clients make a human connection with their latest medical device, healthcare plan or pharmaceutical. It's taken years to understand this category and I'm proud to say I bring more than great looking content to the table. My visual approach is to keep images simple, graphic and engaging. As a director I know the importance of casting and how to connect with talent or actual doctors and patients. My post production process treats each client to their own unique branded look.
Time to play!
When I am brought onto a project, my team and I dig deep into the essence of each client's current need. When working directly with clients, we shepherd them through the creative and production process. Be it set design, casting, finding unique locations, or sourcing the right equipment to build an authentic hospital room or ER. My knowledge of the global industry is above average, I love diving into a client's brand and my production resources are deep and nation wide.
Rest assured, the million and one details that are part of your shoot will be handled by me and my team. We work hard so you don't have to. Take a look at how we roll BTS.
So I'd love to hear from you to discuss your next project or to just say "Hello".
